“If you're in Looe and want somewhere to eat a Cornish pasty or enjoy a cream tea then head to Daisys. It's v small so you can't always get a table. Very friendly owners. Excellent home cooked food and cakes.”

Town
“Looe is an ancient Cornish fishing town, the first 'town charter' granted to East Looe by Henry II sometime between 1154 and 1189 A.D. Looe pre-dates Queen Elizabeth I, Henry VIII and by the time Christopher Columbus 'sailed the ocean blue', Looe was already over 300 years old. Great for historians and amazing for people who live in modern towns, in modern houses. Little winding streets and lane and houses, like Eliza, built when King Henry VII (that's right, the SEVENTH) was on the throne. Learn more at the Old Guildhall Museum or, for Looe's fishing history, pay a visit to the Old Sardine Factory Heritage Centre (includes a cafe, a restaurant and a kids' climbing wall.”

Place to eat
“The peninsula is extremely popular for all types of fishing. It’s just a minutes walk down to the beach and there is space aplenty to fish straight from the shore. You can (hopefully) expect to catch; Sea Bass, Pollack, Sea Bream, and of course Mackerel. For the more adventurous, there are the outlying rocks off Rame Head, which are geographically more remote. If you’re a coarse fishing enthusiast, we have a very well stocked lake at the bottom of the lane, just a few hundred metres away. There’s also the option of Fishing boat hire from Looe and Plymouth which go as far as the Eddystone Lighthouse, where the more exotic types of fish being Ling, Dover Sole, Cod, Crab and yet more Mackerel.”

“Great little café, coffee shop and bistro situated on Looe's Quay. Serves a great selection of sandwiches, paninis, tapas, and cakes. Often open later in the summer, serving wine, gin and pastis. A great family run café with fabulous views across the harbour. Inside and outside seating. Dog and child friendly, although Looe beach is not dog friendly between May and October, but Hannafore beach over on West Looe is pooch friendly all year round.”

“Trawlers is Looe's noteworthy seafood restaurant and often serve a good selection of lobster, scallops, calamari, lemon sole and other fresh fish, all caught by the Looe day boats. Slightly more pricey than the Coddy Shack as more of a wine bar restaurant than family restaurant. A nice friendly place with great views over Looe harbour. Inside and outside seating, although limited. Booking advisable in the peak months. Serving a good selection of wine but If you like gin, why not try a glad of Tarquins Cornish gin :)”
