History Museum
“Well worth a trip! As if the museum itself wasn't enough, the museum's gardens, simply known by locals as 'museum gardens' is very pretty. With St. Mary's Abbey, a ruined Benedictine Abbey as a back drop, you will amaze your friends with some pretty fanatastic photographs!”

“Barley Hall is a stunning medieval town house, once home to the Priors of Nostell and a Lord Mayor of York. Until the 1980s the building was hidden under the relatively modern facade, only when it was going to be destroyed was the amazing medieval structure discovered and its rich history uncovered. Église
“Built well over 500 years ago, it’s one of the largest and most beautiful buildings to visit in all of Yorkshire. Now, heads up, you will need to pay a fee to enter, but you can save a pretty penny if you purchase a York Pass that allows entry to lots of the main sites in the city. It’s easily one of the best things to do in York and totally impressive. Also, if you’re looking for a little bit of a challenge, ask at the ticketing counter to climb the tower itself. Yup, it’s just under 300 steps but it’s well worth it for view all across the city. ”

“The Shambles is a 'must see', its very thin and very old with a cobbled street, just how you imagine streets used to be! You must look up to see the buildings above the shop fronts, its fascinating! There are Harry Potter shops here and lots of little independent shops.”

Monuments/Sites célèbres
“Enjoy the stunning views from this proud symbol of the might of our medieval kings. It was at the heart of William the Conqueror’s fearsome ‘Harrying of the North’ campaign to stamp out resistance in the rebellious north after his 1066 invasion. For centuries after, the ‘Kings Tower’ played a key role in the control of England surviving flood, fire and siege. Café
“ Our favourite hidden gem. A cafe that has a library inside. This means you can oder drinks, cakes and lunch and then also get your reading fix. Great kids section and they offer kids menu. Really peaceful and on a sunny day you can sit outside and look over the park.”
