“Circular and galleried, lit up at night in neon colors, this building designed by Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović is a stunning piece of architecture. As its popular name džamija testifies, it was converted to a mosque in World War II. Restored to its original purpose in 1993, the gallery is now an exhibition space for all forms of visual arts, while a new mosque has been purpose-built in the Borovje neighborhood.”

Place piétonne
“Tkalčićeva Street is Zagreb main hub for cafes, restaurants and casual nightlife. Also known as Tkalča (Tkalcha), it features dozens of places where you will find something to your liking. Tkalčićeva is filled with life. Numerous boutiques, traditional shops, restaurants, cafes and outdoor events will fill your day. Once it was a stream that divided two oldest Zagreb settlements, Gradec and Kaptol. Because of contamination by all the shops, the stream was diverted. In the period 1899 to 1941, almost every house in Tkalčićeva street was a brothel. or this reason, Zagreb was the first city in Europe with the proper red light district. ”

“Ok this is a GEM! Sljeme is treasure for Zagrebcani (the people of Zagreb). You can hike up there (highly recommended) or you can go by car (if you need a ride ping us in advance if we available we gonna find a way to get you there) So, if you go for a hike then the best thing is to take uber, put Bikceviceva Staza. It will take you on the beginning of Bikceviceva trail where you can choose Bikceviceva (a bit intense) or Leustekova trail which is a bit easier but in my opinion also more beautiful. Each trail is gonna lead you to a different top and different restaurant. You won't miss it either way you choose. We usually go on Sunday's, it like a tradition for Zagreb people so you gonna see a lot of local people over there and their way of living. Young adults, families, even older groups... But this is just a pinch of what Sljeme has to offer, once you there you should def go to see the tower also Medvedgrad which is breathtaking. ”
