Excellent Spanish cuisine made with the freshest ingredients and real skill. I love the open walled building, the wine list and alfresco setting-jus IMO, but Tabarka's has a very European feel, yet more French countryside than Spanish. But the food and owners are definitely Spanish. Ties with 2 others for my favorite restaurant.

Argentinian Steakhouse. I eat steak relatively rarely but this is where I go for steak. They have US and Latin American cuts. The Rib Eye was my favorite steak in the US. They have beautiful Rib Eye here at roughly $250+ pesos, but the Arrecherra, a marinated skirt that is a staple in steakhouses in Mexico is excellent at 120-130 pesos. I've come to prefer the Latin-American cut, Vacio; I believe i's a 'flap' steak, but it's really not a cut equivalent to anhy American cut. A large. IMO delicious cut with a choice of side dishes and chimmi churra is priced at 130-150 pesos, as much as half the price of the Rib Eye. At the current exchange rate that is about $8.50 -8.65.

Small menu and everything done WELL. Particular emphasis on southern gulf specialties (Gumbo, Oysters) but always have one excellent Thai Curry.

Located next to the Catholic church and across from the very traditional, quaint, sleepy Mexican village Square/ Plaza of tiny San Antonio Tlayacapan is the recently renovated Adelita's: in a building now sleek and modern enough to fit seamlessly into sophisticated Los Angelese California, is an up-scale restaurant, sometimes nightclub, that retains a few remnants of it's geography: open back wall, large Mexican style 'gone LA modern' pierced tin star light fixtures, and the same local largely ex-pat crowd. Everything they do, they o well.

It was a drinks and live music hot spot but ownership has changed and I'm not sure....Just a few months ago they still had IMO the best, most sophisticated bar in town : Herb infused fresh fruit marttini's : Strawberry Basil, Mandarina Mint, Watermelon Yuerba Buena, etc.

El Barco is primarily and definitely a night-club, live music and dancing establishment. But they are open quite early and have a regular afternoon quiet bar crowd. There is am excellent Sushi Bar operated within and perhaps another menu also.
