The grounds at Guildford Castle were opened as public gardens in 1888 to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. They are in the centre of town and well worth a visit if you are out shopping or having lunch. The gardens are small but really pretty and free to enter - there is a small charge if you want to visit the Castle Keep.
