After a scenic gondola ride to the top station at First, you can admire the majestic views via the suspension bridge of the First Cliff Walk, then decide which adventure to take down. If speed and adventure is more your style, you can experience three forms of travel to get down the mountain: the First Flyer, the First Glider, the Mountain Carts or Trottibike scooters. Each activity can be done separately, or as one ticket adventure.

Lake Bachalpsee travels around the world as a postcard. However: no photo is able capture the radiance of the lake. You need to go there and see it for yourself. That doesn't require much effort. Lake Bachalpsee can be reached from the First station on foot in around 40 minutes.

Water from 10 glaciers is channelled through this tight gorge as a raging torrent beneath your feet. You can hear the power of the rushing water as you walk on the steel catwalk fastened into the walls of the gorge and suspended over the rapids. It is a flat easy walk. While there, for a thrilling experience, try balancing and climbing on the 170m² Spiderweb net hanging over the roaring Lütschine River. Or, for the ultimate kick, try the Canyon Swing. From a platform high above the gorge, adventure seekers can jump into the 90-meter deep abyss, attached to a rope. The free fall is halted by a rope, and the brave jumpers then swing several times through the narrow glacier gorge. This experience must be pre-booked.

There are 160 km of mountain bike trails in the Jungfrau Region, and in Grindelwald. They do require a certain level of fitness but thankfully there are always trains and cable cars which can take the strain out of many a climb. Bussalp, Waldspitz and Grosse Scheidegg offer wonderful single trails with an unique view over the glaciers and famous mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Details of trails on www.grindelwald.swiss/en/summer/see-and-do/activities/bike-arena/ Bikes (including mountain and e-bikes) can be rented from the sports store ‘Backdoor’ (www.backdoorshop.ch/?lang=en) or at the Intersport shop at the Sunstar Hotel)
