For a small town we have world class food. I have listed a few places but do let me know if you want something special.
Our local coffee shop with great selection of newspapers and magazines from all over the world. Right next door we have a great local bookstore called Garcia St. It's a 10 min walk.

The Teahouse is one of the best places in Santa Fe to enjoy a good, affordable breakfast with a pot of tea and it's 5 min walk from our house. But don’t feel boxed in by the focus on tea — The Teahouse serves many other beverages, including coffee and coffee-based drinks, Mexican cokes, mimosas, and soda-based shandies. The dinner menu is appealing, too, and the restaurant does great things with baked goods and desserts. Open every day, 9 am to 9 pm. Beautiful outside gardens to enjoy a peaceful meal or drink.

Fantastic old restaurant located off the Santa Fe Plaza. Great historic building and the most beautiful courtyard in town for outside seating. Love to hum along? Servers have been singing for your supper at The Cantina at La Casa Sena for over 30 years. The Canina is right next door to La Casa Sena. Hear the best of Broadway mixed with pop tunes.

Shiprock Santa Fe gallery, located on the historic Santa Fe Plaza, is rooted in the rich artistry, cultures and traditions of the Navajo and other Native American tribes of the Southwest. Taking inspiration from the Navajo legend of Shiprock, a sacred volcanic rock formation believed to have once been a great-winged bird that carried the Navajo peoples to northwestern New Mexico, the gallery spans place and time—merging historic and contemporary Native American art with modern mid-century furnishings in an eclectic gallery aesthetic.

Essentials

This is a piece of true Santa Fe history, with the best tamales in town and it's down the street. Is the oldest remaining neighborhood grocery store with a wide selection of cold and hot drinks, and every thing under the sun. Pictures of the rich intergenerational ownership adorn the walls along with other memorabilia. It's actually a true destination in and of itself if you are in town. Well worth the visit and it 5 min walking distance from our house. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/11/AR2007091101717.html
