Sightseeing

It is located on the northeast side of Pelion, at a distance of 50km from Volos just above Zagora. The village square is at the highest point made on 3 (!) Levels, shaded by huge plane trees .. From there you enjoy a wonderful combination of mountain coolness and simultaneous view of the deep blue sea. When sky is clear, Skiathos, Skopelos and Halkidiki can be seen !!!!

You should visit the beautiful traditional village – Tsagkarada in order to be impressed by a unique nature phenomenon – 2 giant old Platanus trees that grow there. In the Agia Paraskevi church square stands a Platanus giant tree of more than thousand years. The circumference of its trunk is about 17.5 meters. Its trunk split to several giant branches which grow up and to its sides. Not far from it stands another Platanus tree, only eight hundred years old, that its trunk’s circumference is 14 meters. The tree branches are heavy and full of leafs that turn yellow during autumn, fall in winter and grow again in spring. During summer the green leafs create a shadow on most of the square. The visitors are astonished by the ancient trees that never stopped growing.

The beach of Parisina is on the left of the beach of Horefto. The access is through a path, from the beach, from the downhill path. Its beach is sandy. Parisina is one of the few nudist beaches in Pelion, and gathers many people especially in the weekends. We suggest to leave your car on the edge of Horefto beach, and follow the path from the sea. Do not forget to take with you water, food, umbrellas cause beach is not organized.

few miles away from Tsagarada downhill we reach the fabulous sandy beach of Milipotamos, bustling with tourists during the summer. Fascinating rocks, crystal blue sea, gentle sand and white pebbles compose an ideal setting providing a colourful spot for enjoyable holidays. A group of rocks divides the impressive white pebbled beach of Mylopotamos into two. A passage through the rocks connects the two beaches. On the other side of Mylopotamos the waters of the stream reach the sea and make the scenery wilder and more beautiful
