Portsoy, with its quaint 17th century Harbour, also offers a sandy beach, shops, a pub, coffee shops, and its well-known Portsoy ice-cream shop; all within 5 minutes' drive from Baley retreat. The only risk here is for you wanting to stay or return again and again!!.

Findlater Castle is the old seat of the Earls of Findlater and Seafield, sitting on a 50-foot-high cliff overlooking the Moray Firth. Only 12 minutes drive to the free car park and 5 minutes walk afterwards.
