From Trungle it is a few miles drive along winding country lanes to Porthcurno. Famous for it's stunning beach and clear blue sea this is considered to be one of the best beaches to visit. To the east lovely walks along the coastal path on the high cliffs bring you past Pedn Vounder beach, which is a steep scramble down, but very lovely when you get there. Further you come to along to Logan Rock. Alternatively park up in the beach car park, grab your beach gear and spend the day on the sands, swimming in the Atlantic waters and popping to the nearby cafe for ice cream or a bite to eat.

Carved in to the granite cliffs by the remarkable Rowena Cade in the 1920s this is a theatre like no other. Throughout the summer months a variety of performances are played out against the backdrop of the sea and sky. Catching a performance here is a magical experience and the theatre is open to visitors at other times. If you are lucky enough to get to see something there make sure you take a cushion and blanket if its going to be cool . Waterproofs if needed as performances are rarely cancelled. It is popular to take your own picnic, although food and drink are available in the theatre.

The town is set around its harbour and is home to many craft shops, galleries and places to eat including one of Rick Steins restaurants. The Square is a good place for food too. The clock tower at the entrance to the harbour is featured in many a photograph of Porthleven during one of the many wild winter storms.
