City/town information

Well worth a visit. A favourite of Queen Victoria in 1838 allowed it to chage its name from Leamington Priors Royal Leamington Spa after it grew into a spa town following the popularisation of its water which was reputed to have medicinal qualities. Most of this 'New' Spa towen is north opf the river Leam with the 'Old' town being locaed south of the river. Its is a fine example of a regency Spa town. We would recommend it for shops bars and restaurants, walking around the parks, particularly the Jephson Gardens in the centre of the town. It is also very close to Warwick with its historic castle and Kenilworth with its castle All possible in a day out
