#CasaHJP is located in Bella Vista; a very central, safe location where everything essential you may need is walking distance.
Bella Vista Mall and Plaza are 2 streets away (make a left as you exit out the apt building, then a right onto Calle Bohechio, and then the next street make a left on Avenida Sarasota. Bella Vista Mall will be right in front of you. In that mall there is a big grocery store (first floor) called El Nacional. There are shopping stores, pharmacy, money exchange spots and local restaurants nearby the mall also.
Covid Testing for traveling back to USA: The clinic for the covid test is called Amadita (bella vista location) and its 5 minutes away next to Bella Vista Mall. I suggest you do the rapid test which you will have the results in a few hours. The test costs like 2,000 pesos (35 dollars) and you can pay with a card or cash. Please note between the wait and the actual test it will take more or less 1.5 hrs so keep that in mind. I suggest taking the test 2 days before you fly and also try to be the first patient in the morning to avoid the line. You can google the time of operation.

The closes beach is Boca Chica which is about 45 minutes away give or take traffic. If you are not renting a car the best way to get around is Uber - very affordable. Local trips can cost you around 5 dollars and the 45 minute trip to the beach is like 14 dollars. I always encourage tourist (myself included) to use Ubers.
At Boca Chica you can rent beach buggies and banana boats for fun. There is a tiny little "island" (swamp & grove) very close distance that you can travel to by renting a canoe boat and paddle there and back. You will see people/sales person for both banana boats and canoe.
There are plenty of "local" restaurants literally at the beach. However, I highly recommend since you already in the area, walking down the beach or taking a quick motorcycle to the more "upscale/fancy" restaurants in the area. They are an experience.
These are almost boardwalk restaurants with beautiful décor and private beach access.
Pelicano, Neptunos, St Tropez & Boca Marina are my top 4. They are all next to each other; a strip of restaurants.
Food is very good and it will be a very nice unwinding experience from the fun beach day.
Feel free to google those 4 and look at pictures and choose your favorite.
I eat at all 4 when I am in the DR. Once again Uber, if you're not renting a car, is the best way to go back to the apt.

Playa Boca Chica

Parque los 3 ojos / three eyes national park.
Very fun to look at and walk through this limestone cave. It has an underground river which you cross over to see a great view. You can use trip advisor or go on your own. Its about 25 minutes away via Uber

This is the best way to get around. Compare to USA & EU prices these are very affordable. Local trips are roughly 5 dollars.
Trips to and from airport could be 14 dollars same to the beach.
