The hikes: Inspiration Point Trail head is the starting point for several hikes into the back country. You are welcome to use the Santa Barbara guide to local trails, found on the bookshelf in the sun room of the townhouse. Please hike safely: carry water, cell phone and first aid kit. Rattlesnake Canyon Trail
Rattlesnake Canyon Trailthis is a partially shaded hike that crosses a bubbling spring fed creek. Takes about 45 minutes to a small meadow, where most folks turn around.
One of our favorite "longer hikes" continues upward north on the connector trail, which then connects you to the Inspiration Point/Tunnel Rd trail network. Plan on 2-3 hours one way. You will need a shuttle car parked on Tunnel Rd to get you back to where you started. Beautiful vistas from the connector trail. Always know where you're going and how to get back and carry water and your first aid kit.

There's a great hike from Carpinteria State Park south past Tarpits, Carpinteria's second most popular surf break. Try Beach Liquor for a darn good burrito. It's at the corner of Linden and 8th street.
