City/town information

Welcome to the Municipality of Whitestone, located in the District of Parry Sound in Northern Ontario. In 2000, the Parry Sound District Restructuring Commission incorporated Whitestone and amalgamated the Townships of East Burpee, Burton, McKenzie, Ferris, Hagerman, and part of Croft as well as the communities of Ardbeg, Dunchurch, Maple Island, and the Village of Whitestone. With this amalgamation, Whitestone has become a place with something for all ages, all year long! Spring brings the budding of flowers & trees with warm fresh air. The sap starts to run, keeping the local maple syrup producers busy. Summer is perfect for boating, fishing & swimming in any of the sparkling inland Lakes & Rivers. In the Fall, the colourful scenery is breathtaking with bright yellow, red and orange leaves. There is also plenty of snow to go around in the winter, regardless of your winter sport preference including snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, skating or ice fishing. Not to mention the beautiful scenery the snow provides. The Municipality of Whitestone offers something for everyone; a place with an abundance of community events. Our events include the Dunchurch Fall Fair, the annual Fish Fry, the annual Fishing Derby as well as local bake sales, yard sales, the Knox United Church Thanksgiving Dinner at the Community Centre and the annual Christmas Craft Sale. These community events, our extensive trails and our beautiful Whitestone Waterfront Park make Whitestone a wonderful tourist destination for weekends or even day trips. As a community, we are proud of what we have to offer and love to call the Municipality of Whitestone home. Whitestone encourages you to join us, whether for a day, a weekend or a lifetime. Everyone is always welcome.
