Kid friendly beach

Esker Beach in Groton is only 10 minutes away, and is completely kid friendly. No waves, nearby playground, snack shack, etc. I think parking is still free, and the walk from the parking lot to the sand is short.

DuBois Beach in the Stonington Borough, is a great spot. Get there early or late in the day, because it fills up fast. I think it is $10 per person (kids free?) With the pandemic, they only allow so many people on the beach.

Sightseeing

If you want to drive further, about 30 minutes, it will get you to Watch Hill, Westerly, RI. Gorgeous place, parking is $20 for the day, and the name of the beach is Napatree Point. If you follow the sand trail down to the beach. It is a little bit longer to walk, and it may be worth while checking the wave report (usually the summer beach is calm, but there can be waves.)
