Go here to eat! Notre Dame people haven't discovered it - try a reservation but you might walk in too - two restraunts - both REALLY good, the Copper Creek is fine dining but their sports bar is awesome - eat here and support the Pokagon Band!

Italian (Notre Dame focused) Barbershop

This is an old world men's barbershop -- call for an appointment, it's a true treat - Armando has cut every football coach's hair since the arrival of Italian barbers in the region. Men hang out here, you can talk Italian or English there - and you absolutely want Armando or his son Chris to do your hair - call ahead (days and days) to get an appointment

Déplacements

Going to the game - Take the bus and walk back after

Transpo – seriously - http://www.sbtranspo.com/ 100 yards or less from my house is a Transpo stop and it runs straight downtown and one five minute change for a bus that goes straight to ND (and even goes on campus and lets off at the Grotto if you stay on it (or at the library too). This is such a cheap way to go to campus for events on a game day. Take a minute to figure it out, but save a fortune on event time parking – and walking back from campus on a nice day isn’t too bad, but take the Transpo or an Uber to campus.
Réservez avant de partir

Great Eats - busy ND weekends you'll need reservations

Eating nearby: Crooked Ewe is an absolute favorite Bourbon Street Pizza Rocco’s Pizza is a South Bend favorite (but be prepared to wait) Barnaby’s is a local favorite – the people in there are unaware that an ND even is happening and the pizza is excellent – you want the one on Jefferson) Dainty Maid for Breakfast - also known as Early Bird Eatery Chicory Café for Coffee (South Bend location) Peggs (for eggs and so much more)
