Sunflower is my family's favorite breakfast place. It's bright and cheery, and the food is always good. The cinnamon rolls are to die for and breakfast can be anything from bacon, eggs, and pancakes to Belgian waffles or Eggs Benedict. They're excellent for lunch, too, but not open for dinner. If you arrive after 9:00, be prepared for a wait.

The Mosquito has consistently good food and a wide variety from burgers to salads to full dinners. You order at the counter, but your food is brought to your table. If you have a large group, you'll be happy to know, they have a large table reserved for parties of 10 - no waiting. Their desserts are also excellent - the zucchini spice cake is our favorite - three layers with creme cheese icing spilling out the sides. Dessert portions are generous - two can easily share. Mosquito also has a dog-friendly patio.

The Spot is a great family spot - counter service - burgers, salads, seafood. The building is an amalgam of a number of old homes moved to its location on Seawall, with a view of the Gulf from most tables. There are also some back rooms on the second floor - my kids and I went there to watch some sporting event. A number of bars are in the same complex as The Spot, so there's something for everyone.

Miller's is locally-owned and has basic great food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), with enormous, award-winning (really!) desserts. Their yeast rolls are legend, and the biscuits at breakfast are HUGE. Because of its handy location, there is often a wait, so go sooner rather than later. You have a view of the Gulf from almost every table.
