Matagorda County lies on the Texas Coastal Bend long known for its recreational fun and natural beauty. The County’s 55-mile coastline is located along the inter-coastal waterway where we enjoy windsurfing, kayaking, beach combing, fishing or crabbing. Sargent and Matagorda are beachside communities within a few minutes’ drive of Bay City. A few miles southwest of Bay City is the City of Palacios, on Matagorda Bay, where we sail, kayak or fish off the piers
