Feel like conquering a mountain? Hike straight-up Koko Head Crater following old railway. you will be stepping up and over railroad ties the entire way. Old military lookout with pillboxes. Wear good shoes and bring water. Thigh burning hike- my fitbit showed 100 flights of stairs in the 1 mile to-the-top climb. Just take your time, and rest along the way. HUGE payoff at the top with panoramic views of Oahu's coast! middle section is a railroad ties "bridge"...go to the right for alternate route. Much easier going down than up! Plan on at least an hour up, 30 minutes to enjoy the top (some people bring a picnic lunch) and 30 minutes down. 2 hour total. Go EARLY for cooler temps. I've hiked this rain or shine, can by a bit slippery, but still OK.

Arrive a bit early and park near the Gift Shop where you will sign wavers. there is a path down the hill next to the Gift Shop to the water's edge where you will launch the kayaks. You will receive a map of the area (with good snorkel spots) and receive instruction in basic kayak safety guidelines prior to starting out on the water.
