Conseils sur la ville

Déplacements

Getting around

The subway/metro is fast and safe. Buses too. Public transport in Madrid works well! We also use Share Now and ZITY apps for car sharing and BiciMAD for bike rentals. Uber and Cabify apps (cab service) work very well too and are safe. Public taxis are of course safe too.

Tipping in Spain

Tipping is common in Spain but you are not forced to tip if the service wasn’t great. Tip based on the experience you receive. A normal tip is around 10% in a restaurant. If the service and food were excellent 15% is fine. You don’t have to tip in services such as hairdressers.

What to pack

Madrid is a big city and there’s a lot of walking to do. Winters are cold and summers are very hot. The sun shines most of the time!😍☀️ But it does rain a little more in winter and spring.

Safety

Madrid is a very safe city. Just be careful with pickpocketers in crowed places!
