Delgados is our favorite for Mexican, which is saying a lot in Carpinteria! Incredible menu, fantastic chips/salsa service and cocktails. Kid/dog/outdoor dining friendly any time of year thanks to heaters. At 60 years of a family-run operation, Delgado's is ever a treat.

Closest to the condo amongst the 3 main Carpinteria cafes, it is certainly the newest opening in Fall of '22. I haven't tried it yet but it has neighbors raving and overflowing the place already- i.e. gray days when their outdoor fire is irresistible.

Another one I have yet to try but it has come to my attention that it is an absolute crowd favorite in Carpinteria. Pizza pies and Italian seem to be the main theme, indoor and outdoor dining both offer abundant ambiance and/or natural beauty oceanside.

Sightseeing
Built-in ping-pong tables, volleyball and a quaint little boardwalk bordering the vast white sandy "World's safest beach" flowing to campground and cliffs trails is a main focal point and required visit when coming to Carpinteria! We have loved making this a nightly walk and discovered trails leading off from the campgrounds keep going down and along the cliffs for miles. We've long considered this the best beach in the county at minimum!

Conseils sur la ville
Déplacements
Walking or Biking to beaches
Via Real can be very fast and busy, even though it is the shortest route to nearby Padaro Beach. If you need or wish to walk or bike to a beach or town hub, wear helmet or consider getting a lyft or uber. If you travel Southeast toward downtown Carpinteria and Carpinteria State Beach, there are bountiful sidewalks and bike lines to cross over the freeway and then head straight down 7th street from there, do not turn left or right, passing Aliso School and you will find yourself downtown soon!
For bikes: Locks are an absolute must. Thievery of any kind of bike is rampant all over the county.
Déplacements
Freeway construction project
Generally this will delay you very little, but stay alert to changing freeway patterns and spots where you are traveling with "double walls". There have been more collisions and aggressive drivers lately, keep your cool! Safe and time-efficient driving is possible. Currently the nearest open northbound onramp around Padaro is very short merge time, I would try the Summerland one or go south first down to the Santa Monica intersection/onramp.
Déplacements
Cheapest gas stations
McCormix Diesel, located north on Via Real is generally always best but no cash or cashier, cards only. The newly built Summerland gas station is also more affordable. American Gas on Carpinteria Ave is usually well-priced and very safe as well, if it is open.
