Could this be where King Arthur really was based. Now we see the first defined part of Hadrian's wall going of the the distance , this iconic fort has a great little display and fabulous walks to Gilsland, along Hadrian's wall. Take a picnic and enjoy the sun by the river, at the ruins of Willowford bridge you may even see some deer. Enjoy a warm welcome in the cafe at Gilsland
