Great eatery for a spot of Brunch, Serving from 8am – 3pm daily (prime bunching time), this small but stylish café, owned by local brothers Damian and Olly. Coffee (from Cornish roasters Origin) is a specialty here – you can get a mean flat white or creamy cappuccino – plus, there are lots of options for the health-conscious and latte curious. Try an almond turmeric latte, coconut chai latte, dairy-free milkshake or smoothie brimming with super foods. Food wise, the menu is perfectly formed with hearty and healthy options such as Acai bowls and hipster favourite, egg, avocado and chilli on sourdough. There’s a front terrace for al fresco dining too.

Historic Georgian House, beautiful gardens and superb collection of pictures, furniture and porcelain. Four miles north-west of Bodmin lies the fifty acre estate of Pencarrow, originally mentioned in the Domesday Book. The house is close to the curiously named village of Washaway. Pencarrow Gardens were laid out, mainly during the first half of the 19th century, by Sir William Molesworth, a radical statesman. He planted a specimen of almost every known conifer considered sufficiently hardy to stand a chance of surviving the British climate. Many of the trees and flowering shrubs here are too tender to survive in any part of Britain.

It has excellent lifeguard facilities from April to September. The Times newspaper listed Mawgan Porth in the top ten holiday beaches stating that, "There are better-known and busier beaches in Cornwall, but few can match the raw beauty of Mawgan Porth, on the north coast near Newquay. Shielded on both sides by cliffs, it has acres of soft white sand, rock pools, caves and magical sunsets."
