By far the best breakfast spot in Kingston. Their adjacent bakery (Bread & Butter) is drool worthy. So yummy! Their omelettes, available on weekends only, are some of the best we've ever had.

Sightseeing

While Kingston does offer tours of the 1000 islands, the boat tours from Gananoque Boat Lines offer visitors a closer look at our spectacular islands. Many of our visitors have enjoyed the 1 hour tour from Ivy Lea. If you have the time, and the right US traveller's visa, consider the 5 hour Boldt Castle tour which gives you a unique story to take home. Gananoque Boat Lines offer headsets in many different languages to make sure visitors don't miss a thing about the tour. https://ganboatline.com

For the best view of Kingston and Fort Henry, skip the paid boat tours in Kingston and jump on the Wolfe Island Ferry for free. You can travel across to Wolfe Island on foot, bicycle or by car. Once you're there, visit Marysville, bike around the island or go to Big Sandy Bay Conservation Area. Our favourite restaurant on the island is the Wolfe Island Grill, sit on the patio! And our favourite brand of ice cream, Slicker's, can be found at Cafe Tenant (http://cafetenango.webs.com). http://www.wolfeisland.com/ferry.php http://www.bigsandybay.ca

Parks & Nature

The Pier at the water treatment centre is the best place for jumping into the water. Not for young ones, it's deep and wavy and you have to climb a ladder to get out. This is the most popular location for kite boarders as well.

Best sand beach in the area. Take some time to visit local wineries, and explore the town of Picton. The most scenic route to get there is to take Highway 33 and the free Glenora Ferry. https://www.ontarioparks.com/park/sandbanks http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/ontario-511/ferries.shtml#glenora

Rugged backcountry trails offering stunning views and lots of great picture taking opportunities. There are friendly 3km trails and tough endurance trails. My favourite hike is the 43 kilometre unofficial Perimeter Trail, it's not for the feint of heart! We have a map of the park which can be borrowed, and we can help you choose the right trail for your time and fitness level. On the way home be sure to stop at Limestone Creamery, visit the cows who make our milk, enjoy some ice cream and shop for local food. https://www.ontarioparks.com/park/frontenac http://www.frontenacpark.ca http://www.limestonecreamery.com
