Great brunch- sitting at the bar on a Sunday morning is a fun way to get to know locals and other tourists alike. Menu has something for everyone. Bloody Mary's and variations on this drink are stupendous. Love the omelettes and the veggie hash browns.

Spectacular view with my favorite rum punch and all kinds of food so the whole family has options. Lobsters are what you go there for but highly recommend the seafood chowder, which isn't overly thickened and is very flavorful, and got to try the Indian pudding just to say you did- you'll be surprised at how delicious it is!

From the owners of Mekhong Thai up route 1, which I also highly recommend, especially for take out, comes this fun Main Street Thai food joint that has a great porch overlooking the street, fun bar drinks, and delicious food that is actually spicy when it says it's going to be! I've never gone wrong with anything on this menu.

Amazing pizza, hands down my favorite in town when we want a take-out night- crust is edible to the end. The spinach and feta pizza is to die for, and the owners, Maria and Kostas, always know we're the Texans ordering when we get the jalapeno pepperoni.

I love the bar here though the view of the cove from the restaurant is gorgeous. Raw bar is their biggest strength- quality of the shellfish and creative sauces are perfect with one of their craft cocktails or the excellent wine selection. Not inexpensive so for most people this is a better date/couples night than family destination. That said, our kids love it!

Sushi Sushi Sushi. Really fun rolls and a variety of sake. Small and cozy, right next to the Leavitt Theater, so great for a stop coming off the beach if you're headed north, or before/after a movie. In addition to any of the rolls, I recommend the seaweed salad- one of the best I've had.

Also a movie/music venue with great bar food and drinks, set in the riser seats of the Leavitt Theater. A creative and fun adaptation of theater space with theme nights including surf movies and live jazz. This is a great place to wind down on the way home from being out on the town.

Was hard to pick which category this place belongs in- great for a drink and snack just coming off the beach, as a late night bar scene, or just to grab lunch or dinner. The oven fired pizza is really delicious with creative toppings, and the bar scene is dark and swanky, full of all ages, tourists and locals alike- offering a very fun selection of cocktails.

Everything Else
Don't know how to describe my love for this place. The food is fine, not gourmet or particularly creative (although the sweet potato fries and the steamers are consistently great go-to items if you're eating). It's on Ogunquit beach as part of the only edifice grandfathered in, so needless to say, the view is spectacular. The deck is always a destination when you've had enough sun but still want spectacular views, or when it's 5 o'clock somewhere and you're craving that creamy pina colada. If it is 5 o'clock or later I definitely recommend bringing a sweater, since it is shady.

Shopping
Clothing and surf gear. Get ready to drop some money in here- the style and prices are pretty LA. But it's my preferred bathing suit store each year, and always end up finding an extra beachwear item (mostly surf and skateboard brands) that I didn't know I needed... the attached restaurant is more for hanging out and having a drink while your shopping partner takes too long, but it works in a pinch.

Arts & Culture
Really fantastic off-Broadway productions and sometimes a chance to see a really well-known performer. This is the place that brought and brings OGT it's unique character in the array of Maine coastal towns. Offerings for the whole family, not a bad seat in the house.

People don't so much hike on this trail as stroll and enjoy the beautiful views of both the rocky and sandy coast. I enjoyed it more when it was more rustic, but many tourists may prefer the more manicured look it's getting. Nice benches pepper the walk for rest stops and photo ops. Lots of hills so easy to justify the big meal in the Cove that you're on your way to or from!

Essentials
For the budget conscious who want to cook a lot while vacationing. Great selection of food and beer. Really funny and friendly staff. And since you're already in NH, you can pick up some wine or liquor from one of the tax free NH liquor stores. It's just a short drive just over the Maine/NH bridge on I-95. The Village Food Market in downtown Ogunquit is great for a smaller grocery list and for breakfast/lunch items, and Hannaford's in York and Wells are large with great selections (including liquor and wine), but pricier and about the same driving distance.
