A list of local places to eat within a short drive
Public House: Within a 15 minute walk of the Shepherd Hut's serving good food. You can sit inside or outside and admire the local landscape. Mostly serving food til 9pm but service is more restricted on a Sunday evening. Please contact 01260 227 217 to obtain the most uptodate serving times and to reserve a table.

Public House: Consistently popular privately owned, with stunning views over the Roaches. Serving food everyday and has the local Wincle Beer on tap It is approximately 15 minute drive from the farm. It is also next to Tittesworth reservoir which offers a 10 mile hike around its circumference and various watersports; such as boarding and canoeing. Also great as a midway point on a circular walk from the farm taking in the Roaches - approximately taking around 6 hours in total. Ask us for directions! Contact number: 01538 300385

A not exhaustive list of things to see and do in the local area - circa within 20 miles
Artisan producer: Open 7 days a week and a short stroll along the river from the farm, this local Brewery has been brewing fantastic ales for over 10 years. With a small shop and tap on site you can have a beer inside or at one of the picnic tables. The brewery also offers a number of courses showcasing what they do - a short brewery tour on a saturday at 2pm, or a full days brewing experience where you get fully immersed in making the beer.

Artisan producer: Making fabulous ice creams constantly adding new seasonal specials to the range. Plus, there is a cafe on site, a local nature walk and an opportunity to get up close with the animals. There is also a pottery workshop on site which is a fantastic space to get creative in and take home a great keepsake from your stay!

Local walking routes
Approximately a 30 minute walk going against the river from the shepherd huts is this hugely atmospheric landmark created by a huge landslip centuries ago. 18 metres deep and 100 meters long it is covered in vivid damp green moss; and in the fifteenth century was used as a secret place for worship. To create a circular walk back to the huts you can loop from here up to hanging stone and down to the brewery and back along the river (or drive)

Approximately a 30 minute walk going against the river from the shepherd huts is this hugely atmospheric landmark created by a huge landslip centuries ago. 18 metres deep and 100 meters long it is covered in vivid damp green moss; and in the fifteenth century was used as a secret place for worship. To create a circular walk back to the huts you can loop from here up to hanging stone and down to the brewery and back along the river (or drive)
A notable landmark, ascend to the edge of this rock and take in the magnificent views of the 3 counties around - on a good day you can almost make out the Welsh hills across the Cheshire Plain (catching the famous Jodrell Bank telescope along the way). Walk further along the path to take in the Roaches. If you are interested in a long walk then you can loop from the huts to hanging stone - Roaches -Meerbrook reservoir and back

A trail starting at the southern edge of Manchester (Disley trainstation) running across Cheshire through the Peak District and on to Stoke on Trent. With stunning views from the Gritstone edges along the Cheshire Plain; part of the trail runs along the edge of the farm boundary and you can create a loop around the village (or further afield by using it). A number of previous guests have used this route to walk from Macclesfield train station for example.
