A dozen or so years ago, a mestizo came to Boracay to open a rustic restaurant in a corner of what locals on the island refer to as Station One. That mestizo, Jose Carlos Remedios – Binggoy to those who know him – along with Jose Ramon Nieto, the other mestizo in Dos Mestizos, the name chosen by the two partners for the restaurant they opened, started cooking in his little corner of Boracay food that, in no time, caught the attention of gourmands, food and restaurant reviewers from Manila and beyond and generally, people with an appreciation for good food cooked with meticulous care, with only the best ingredients and condiments used to ensure quality of taste.

Sunny Side Café is located along the white beach of Station 3 Boracay. Famous for their all-day breakfast menu, they specialize in comfort food and contemporary breakfast dishes that are never boring! We love their concept of twisting classic breakfast favorites such as their Ube & Cereal Milk Pancakes, Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese, and Sunny Side Café Champorado (made with Malagos Chocolate and topped with caramel ice cream, mango, and candied bacon). They are the only restaurant on the island serving specialty coffee. The dishes are all made from scratch–from their bacon, chorizo, and soups, to their bread and pastries that are freshly-baked in-house, every day!

In the late 1800's Filipino intellectuals and warrior-poets started using the word "Indio" (a derogatory term to refer to the Islands' natives) as a badge of honor and a source of pride. They eventually formed a society that fought for reforms and more rights for their countrymen and called themselves "Los Indios Bravos" --- The Brave Natives. This gastropub is a tribute to all those pioneering men for we too are breaking new ground in Boracay as we are the first to showcase all-Filipino handcrafted beers on tap paired with classic pub food from all over the world.

Smoke Restaurant’s menu is mainly comprised of Filipino dishes. However, the meals are prepared in such a way as to appeal even to foreign taste buds. Aside from these, the restaurant also serves a wide selection of food, such as beef and seafood dishes, pasta, sandwiches, and others. Their specialties include Bicol Express, Bulalo, Chicken Curry, Lechon Kawali, Sinigang, and Stuffed Squid with Sizzled Vegetables. Smoke Restaurant has a very affordable price range of 100 to 120 pesos, with some meals even costing as low as 50 pesos. A beer to go with the meal costs about 30 pesos. Since Filipino appetites are smaller than those of foreigners, however, servings likewise tend to be rather small. But since the dishes are affordable, customers can order as much as they like without spending too much. What’s even more interesting is that Smoke Restaurant actually allows their customers to bring their own food! That is, they can bring some raw food with them and have the restaurant cook it according to their specifications. One can buy raw meat, seafood or any other item from the nearby Boracay Wet Market and have the restaurant prepare it for them. The price of the resulting dish would depend on the raw food’s weight and on the method of cooking.

Gerry had a particular fondness for good food; a passion he shared with his family and friends, and from an earnest penchant for drink and grilled food. He yearned for a venue where both may be enjoyed amidst an atmosphere that was fun, fresh and wholesome.

Our philosophy of impacting lives from seed and leaf to cup is steeped in everything we do. By staying connected to the people for whom coffee and tea is a livelihood, we go beyond fair wages by giving back to the plantations, estates, and communities that grow our products by supporting their financial, educational, and medical needs. Cultivating these close ties benefits everyone; from the local growers to our global customers who get to taste the benefits of our partnerships.

The moment you entered this cafe, you will feel like you're in one of the coffee shops in Hongdae or Samcheongdong! That combination of sweet and caffeine smell and the cool breeze of their AC made me excited to just chill the whole afternoon in this cozy cafe. The interiors and the details are k-style inspired- well the owner is Korean that's why! They also have a very fast wifi and a variety of books to choose from but most of them are in Hangul. I think this cafe caters to the no. 1 visitor of this island - the Koreans! The mocha frappe I ordered was so-so as. Same goes for the cappuccino of my companion. But we never mind that since we visited just to check out this cute place and to spend a while reading one of their English travel books.
