Joe’s WHERE and WHAT to EAT in Albay Guidebook

Food scene
Our home grown food chain that popularly claims "We're not fast food, we're good food". Loved by all and can be found not just in Old Albay (the first branch in Albay) but also in Daraga Albay and most of the malls in Legazpi city. A bit of a drive from home but absolutely worth it. Must try: -Tenderloin tips with java rice (my personal favorite) -Pork chop and laing (because Bicol. :-P) -Beef salpicao -Rock and Roll Iced tea-- an absolute must! -The friend chicken and spaghetti is good too and will be greatly enjoyed by the kids (and kids at heart).

Well it's just the BEST HALO-HALO EVER. Seriously, it deserves an award. Found all over Albay but the one closest to home would be the branch in Legazpi city near Metro Gaisano mall. Worth all the calories. ;-) Approximately 95 pesos for the biggest special halo halo with a scoop of ube ice cream on top. Don't forget to buy a pack of barquillos to go with it if you wish to eat it the way we Alabayanos do!
