Bright and airy, this is Athy's original bakery but they now serve food as well. Do buy a couple of "fancies" or cream buns! I recommend the coffee slice, but there's plenty to chose from! And you can take-away too...

The quintessential traditional "pub-grocers", an absolute must visit when in Athy. Small grocery shop to the front (check out the freshly baked bread on sale) and a pub at the back. Tell Judith we sent you ;)

If you're looking for a traditional and quaint pub to visit, this is it! Space is tight though, and for me best enjoyed in the afternoon or early evenings before the crowds come in (unless that's your thing!). There's a trad music session every Thursday from 9pm. A rare treat not to be missed!

Located in the main town square, our usual port of call for a few drinks. The owners John and David are friends of ours and run a great establishment - not quite vintage yet, but well on the way there! Check out David's delicious cocktails, coffee very good too!
