The Dixie has live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Like any good small town cafe, the menu can change a bit based on what is available, but locals swear by the chicken salad, the country ham and the PIE!

Cordell Hull was the longest serving Secretary of State (11 years) and this is his birthplace. The land was granted to his family as payment for service in the Revolutionary War and it is still in the family. If you are into history, you will enjoy a walk through this State Historic Park. Look him up before visiting to get a more complete picture.

Schoolhouse Visitor Centre exhibits and video trace a century of Rugby's British and Appalachian heritage. You can also visit the founder's Gothic Revival Cottage, filled with furnishings made by the early colonists, the Rugby Commissary, which is full of traditional crafts, Harrow Road Cafe, Newbury House B & B, and Pioneer Cottage. Five sets of tees accommodate every level of player. Golfers staying anywhere on Dale Hollow Lake can boat to Dale Hollow State Park Resort Marina. Good Neighbors Theatre, Inc. got its start under the direction of the Friends of Cordell Hull in 2000, later becoming a separate organization. GNT, an all-volunteer organization, has been hosting performances of all kinds—plays, dinner theater, mystery theater, music and magic—since its start. The goal is to provide an arts and cultural center for Pickett County by presenting both local performances and productions from outside venues. Future plans for the facility include holding exhibits, workshops, and lessons in the various arts.
