Parks & Nature
Runyon Canyon is famous for its hiking AND celebrity sightings. I recommend parking on the less-busy Mulholland entrance, although expect a crowd. Watch the No Parking signs, or you'll be ticketed. Do the whole loop and end up back at the top!

If you have a dog, this is your must-see off-leash dog park! Completely enclosed with fencing, it's open 6 am to sundown and has plenty of free parking. Like many places in LA, it's a great place to see stars. Recently seen with their dogs: "Breaking Bad's" Bryan Cranston and Jake Gyllenhaal, whose German Shepherd stole my dog's tennis ball. He politely returned it!

On busy days, look for the gay area, known locally as "Ginger Rogers Beach." Locals often arrive late (noonish) and leave early (2 pm), as the temperature often drops quickly at the beach. Have fun!

Check out the community photos on the wall, taken annually. Mama Cass used to live in a secret apartment in the basement of the store. If you're nice, Tommy may show it to you. Canyon Country Store has full liquor sales and will deliver anything day or night, from a banana, to a liter of milk or a gallon of vodka! (323) 654-8091

This is one of the things I take my own guests to see! The Warner Bros. Studio Tour is a real, old-school golf cart ride through some of the most Famous Streets in the world! You'll spend the day in a small group with a personal tour guide -- much more intimate an experience than Universal. Please note this is NOT a theme park -- you'll walk through actual working sets. I highly recommend! Reservations suggested. While you're in the area, drive around to see the Walt Disney Studios, about a mile from Warner Bros. parking.
