Another of our favorites. Hands down the best Fish Tacos I have ever had. Also the best t-shirts on the island.

Not for the kids.......but fabulous food and drinks for the adults. More upscale and dressier. Sits right across from the ocean and has live music. Great Martinis!

It's the best pizza on the island (owners from New York) and it's a 2 minute drive. They deliver but it takes forever so I recommend driving to pick up. Garlic knots are also yummy.

The food is solid, a bit touristy but also local favorite. We love the bar pies, they are fabulous. Great view for some drinks.

If you want to go fishing or just want a beautiful walk out into the Atlantic, go to Jennette's Pier. It was re-built a few years back and it is a gorgeous pier.

If you want to get away from the big waves on the ocean, try Jockey's Ridge state park and float in the sound. There is a parking lot and it isn't a huge area, but we always enjoy a day over there. You can walk in the water for a mile and it will only go up to your knees. Great for little ones. Our favorite thing to do is stop and get chicken wings, some string and a bucket and go crabbing over there. That is all you need and it's a hoot how those crabs go after that chicken. We usually throw them back but sometimes we get some big ones and bring them home and cook 'em up.

Manteo has a gorgeous waterfront shopping area and some cute restaurants. It's a 15 minute drive and worth the trip.

Everything Else
About 45 minutes south is a great retail shop, connected to a great restaurant (Waterman's Grill) and some of the best (free) kite boarding shows you can see. The Outer Banks is known as being one of the best spots in the world for Kite boarding. If you head down to Real and walk to the back you can watch some world class kite boarders doing their thing, and it is amazing to watch. There is also live music Friday and Saturday nights.

If you have a day to burn this is a really fun thing to do. Bring a cooler and spend the day on the beach after you drive through Corova. If you get really lucky the horses will come down to romp in the surf.
