Terrific 300 degree view of the Pioneer Valley from a wrap around balcony attached to the former (1900's) Summit House hotel. Can hike up to the summit, or drive and park. Sometimes you can spot an eagle. Summit House also offers a summertime music series.

Beautiful in winter, but best in summer. Most popular swimming area around. Clean water, nice medium-sized beaches (separate one for folks with dogs), and people from around the world. Rare to hear a raised voice or disgruntled parent. It's kinda paradise...
And did I mention it's free? Go early on hot days though, as parking is limited (or go around supper time).

Large historic village with reenactments, with buildings from colonial times, both businesses, school and homes. Animals, cider making, lumber milling, horse-drawn coach rides, and general store, among others. Need to be able to walk and be on your feet most of 2 hours. There are some horse drawn vehicles. Great gift shop, too.
