If you want to see how the rich really lived in the 1920s, this DuPont mansion is amazing. Gardens laid out after Versailles and a bowling alley in the basement. Reminiscent of Great Gatsby.

Not a restaurant exactly unless you book 12 months prior, but good lunch and a fun environment. The NYT says Talula's is the toughest reservation in America--you can get fresh yummy gourmet dinner dishes to take out in the back, great cheeses, breakfast scones, elegant desserts, coffee, soups and sandwiches. The pickup sandwiches and salads are nothing special but the rest is really good.

A sophisticated yet casual restaurant that's our closest, located in a shopping center one mile away. We love the food, but it can be noisy and one option is to eat outside. Pizzas from a wood-fired oven, a range of Italian offerings, and a full bar only one mile away. Last we checked, open 7 days a week.

A popular bar and restaurant nearby in Chadds Ford with an emphasis on steaks and seafood, thus a bit pricier. Half price burgers on Fridays. Located in an historic stone building that dates to the early 1700s, which has been operating as a tavern for more than 200 years. A lively happy hour most nights.

I haven’t dined in this new iteration of a very charming location in the heart of Kennett square, but reviews are good if you are looking for a sophisticated meal in an intimate setting. A bit pricier, but a byob, so you save on wine by taking your own.

Newly reopened, Sovana was once the best restaurant in the area, but was closed due to a fire. The food is consistently great and the atmosphere lively and fun. If you want someplace a cut above, this is it.
