Drinks & Nightlife

Large, local, popular pub. 5 minute walk away. Big menu, and a bit of an iconic location for Neutral Bay. It's a great place to just sit outside in the courtyard under the Oak tree.

Parks & Nature

Easy to get to by bus in about 15 minutes. This is a middle harbour beach with very little surf or waves. A beautiful beach with some cafes and fish & chips nearby.

This is probably the most popular beach to the north of Sydney. Accessible by bus from Military Road, or by ferry from the city. The ferry is worth the trip just to see the harbour. The beach is great, can get big surf at times - swim between the flags and read the signs!

Sightseeing

If you don't want to pay for the expense of the bridge climb, go up the Southwest pylon instead. It has a bit of a museum on the building of the bridge and you can take all the pictures of the harbour in every direction from the top for about $15.

Entertainment & Activities

This is an iconic pool and a great place to get some laps in or just hang out for a little while. It is under the Harbour Bridge and looks across to the city and opera house (next to Luna Park).

Some of the best views of the city and just an all-round great zoo. Easily accessible by bus from Military Rd. Pack a lunch and plan to spend the day.

Allow at least 15 minutes to walk down the hill - this is my favourite (but longer) way to the city. Check the schedule - ferries run every 30 or 60 minutes depending on time of day. A bus to go back up the hill (dropping off at Wycombe Rd & Yeo Street) meets every ferry.
