Guidebook for Poulsbo

Food Scene

The oldest coffee shop in town (about 24 years), the Poulsbohemian was around before coffee became cool. It may not be the best coffee in town, but the locals love it for its charm and atmosphere. I would argue that it has one of the best views of Liberty Bay, and a friendly (although at times sassy) staff. Give the lavender lemonade a try, and be sure to check out the enormous scarf that locals have been adding to for years.

I am a big fan of sourcing food locally, and Mossback is my go-to for healthy and delicious meals. Their menu is constantly changing with the season, and they make almost everything from scratch. They are well known for their Rabbit Pot Pies and their ever rotating selection of local oysters. Their cocktails are also incredibly creative and filled with homemade and unique ingredients. If you like local, real, seasonal food, go check them out!

The Coffee Oasis is my go-to for a great tasting latte or cup of drip. It's a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth the walk (or drive if its drizzling). It doesn't hurt that the Coffee O is a non-profit dedicated to its community and the homeless youth in and around Kitsap county. The best tasting coffee in town, and a great cause to boot!

Definitely off the beaten path (in fact, you'll probably pass it the first time you go looking). This is the hidden gem of Poulsbo. Located in a converted barn, and serving only the best locally grown foods, this place is a must for romantic evenings. With a seasonal rotating menu of usually no more than 5 menu items on any given day (as well as a choice of soup or salad, and usually one available desert), it is perfect for the adventurous diner. Make sure to go on a Wednesday night to hear the live piano music.
