A cozy cafe in a cozy shopping street, the Utrechtsestraat. In the cafe they have the typical Dutch 'carpets' on the table -:) You can drink jenever, but also a regular beer. Small, cozy and very local.

I recently visited it with my cousin for the first time, very impressive to learn about the history of Amsterdam in the 2nd worldwar. A good alternative to the Anne Frank museum with its long waiting cues!

Seeing the city from a boat is real fun and exciting. Since a few years it is possible to rent your own boat and this is something I definitely recommend. There is a boatrental close by (not the address indicated) on the Mauritskade 65. You can rent your own boat for 3 hours for 110 euro's.

This is a sauna only for woman. I would therefore not recommend it, since I do not like 'separation' of man and woman-:), but when it used to be a 'normal' sauna I went there sometimes, it is closeby, simple, and lovely.

This is the street where tram nr. 7 stops. You walk to the stop within 5 minutes. This tram goes straight to the Leidse Plein.
Btw: do visit the Czaar Peterstraat with all the little shops. Actually, this street was chosen in 2015 as the nicest shopping street in the Netherlands!
