They bake all their own cakes and Monique from Nandini farm in Upper Kangaroo Valley brings in her bread on Fridays and Saturdays. They make a lot of their own condiments, soft drinks and kombucha. Open on Mondays too, until lunchtime

Our friend Carol runs the pantry, a sweet little cafe next to the Nostalgia factory. Her food is great and won't break the bank - nice after you've blown the weekend's budget at the General! Sit on the big communal table in the sunshine or at the romantic tables for two on the back verandah.

A brilliant second-hand bookstore and record store. It has everything - you could spend hours in here! To get to the bookstore, head out the back of the vintage store in front.

Not just because it's the only pub in town - a great beer garden, boules, decent food, an (enclosed!) playground for the kids, and live music during the week - there are lots of reasons to visit the Friendly Inn! Our favourite for a sneaky burger and beer lunch in the sunshine
