The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a museum and art gallery in Glasgow, Scotland. It reopened in 2006 after a three-year refurbishment and since then has been one of Scotland's most popular visitor attractions. The gallery is located on Argyle Street, in the West End of the city, on the banks of the River Kelvin (opposite the architecturally similar Kelvin Hall, which was built in matching style in the 1920s, after the previous hall had been destroyed by fire). It is adjacent to Kelvingrove Park and is situated near the main campus of the University of Glasgow on Gilmorehill. Definitely worth a visit .....even if it is only to see Salvador Dali’s Christ of St John of the Cross

Micro brewery, restaurant bar and events space – all within staggering distance of the flat :o) Great fresh produce, good vegetarian options, live music and a bit of a hip vibe. Worth a visit I’d say.

Merchant Square is in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City area which is located minutes away from the main shopping area - and fortunately only about 10 minutes walk from the apartment. Home to restaurants, cafes, bars and a variety of events – all located in Candleriggs, the original merchant’s marketplace. Definitely worth a look to see what bands might be playing, usually busy at the weekend – particularly O’Neill’s bar which often has live music

Formerly Kelvinside Parish Church, Òran Mór, Gaelic for ‘great melody of life’ or ‘big song’, is a thriving arts & entertainment venue in the heart of Glasgow’s West End. There’s a victorian bar and whisky bar, John Muir Room restaurant and brasserie restaurant, live music venue and night club and – of course - the now internationally recognised ‘A Play, A Pie and A Pint’ lunchtime Theatre. Jump on the Glasgow Underground from wherever, alight at Hillhead station and then walk about five minutes (up Byres Road towards the Botanic Gardens) and you're there

Fantastic bar with great live music. Located in Merchant City, two minutes from Glasgow High Street train station and 5-10 minutes walk from the flat. Gig dates are a tad unpredictable but certainly worth a visit even if it’s just to soak up the choice of music and get a flavour of local ‘culture’.

Finnieston Area - Allegedly the "hippest place in Britain" according to the times (but I'd take that with a pinch of salt !) Spoiled for choice though – great cafés, bars, restaurants, close to Kelvingrove art galleries and museum, Glasgow Uni and the rest of the West End Must mention one of my own personal favourite cafes - worth a visit if only because of its name: Tantrum Donuts :o) https://www.tantrumdoughnuts.com/about
