Suggested Restaurants and Pubs

Just a short walk up the road there are two pubs in Upper Bangor village which is the student area - The Belle Vue and Paddy's Bar .. but no great restaurants there, however there is a Noodle bar and a there are a number of good takeaways. Over the Menai Bridge and across the Strait in the village of Menai Bridge (which is about a 5 min drive) there are some really good restaurants and pubs... The Bridge Inn / Tafarn Y Bont which is just at the other side of the bridge covers both good pub and good restaurant ( park in the Waitrose car park on left after roundabout ). The Antelope on this side of the bridge and the Anglesey Arms Hotel on the other side are fine as both pub and restaurant. Just down the hill in the village you have plenty of choice .... Dylan's is a very good restaurant on the front. The Liverpool Arms, also on the front by the pier is a nice pub with good reports on food, but up in village Borassic is a nice Pub / Cocktail bar and there are many other good places to eat from Thai Coconut Cove , Toms Hamburgers , Taste of India, Freckled Angel Tapas , Boccas Italian , and the Michelin starred Sospan , The Hydeout etc.. There is also a very good Fish & Chip take away and The Bridge is an very good and kebab take out. The big old Mansion which you can see across the Straits from the apartment is Chateau Rhianfa which is well worth a visit and the dining room there is very good. To get a better idea on all these check out Trip adviser for Menai Bridge. In Bangor you have places like Fat Cats which is about a 15 min walk and is a good bar and popular restaurant and a Wetherspoon's just further along. Pulcinella's is a good Italian restaurant down on Bangor Pier , again about a 15 min walk and also the Garden Hotel (near the railway station) is an excellent Chinese and there are a few Noodle Bars along the high street. For a good vegetarian / Vegan restaurant try Voltaire on Garth Rd. again near the pier. Slightly further along the coast from Menai Bridge is Beaumaris and again there are some excellent Pubs And Restaurants... once again check out Trip Adviser. After all that I suppose the simple options are either Fat Cats or Wetherspoons in Bangor or The Bridge Inn on the Menai Bridge as they cover both pub and restaurant ..... just too many choices!! For more insight check out Trip Adviser or similar but the above are a few suggestions to give you a few ideas.
