It's got cachet. Live jazz music. Delicious sangria. Ambiance plus. Yummy crepes. Trilingual wait staff. A lovely back terrace. Did I mention the delicious sangria? A very reasonably priced (for Old Montreal) menu. And you must try the traditional "pouding chômeur" dessert.

One of the older restos in town, it is still owner-run and has the old-school atmosphere of a Happy Days soda shop. You can sit at the twirling round metal bar stools and have some delicious coffee and poached eggs while reading the newspaper (three different languages the last time I was there)

It's trendy. It's always busy. It's a spot many people like to go to to be seen, dance, flirt. If you don't like it, you are still on one of the more interesting streets in town (St. Laurent) which used to be the wholesale / red-light district back in the day. There are dozens and dozens of other clubs, pubs and resturants you can go to.

Nothing spectacular, just a quieter spot in the city to relax (and take out some awesome food from the streets surrounding it) It no longer has a zoo but you can picnic, bike, chilllax in it these days without the bored monkeys and lonely bear suffering alongside you.

It is actaully on a small island between Montreal and the south shore and has a bit of everything to enjoy: pools, splash parks, bike trails, picnic spots, the old Expo 67 buildings, an amusement park ("La Ronde", run by Six Flags). and many dance festivals and music festivals such as Osheaga take place here in the summer.
