There are a large amount of restaurants trying for your business in the area. I am going to recommend some of my favorites and mainly places that are not large chains, that you might not have at home.

Owned by The Peddler, this is their more casual dining restaurant. Same great food and service just in a more casual and wallet friendly setting. Overall, probably our favorite restaurant. One big plus is it's located at the end of the strip in Gatlinburg, so it's almost never any traffic getting to it. Plus it has it's own parking lot(in front and behind it) so no need to pay for parking.

The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail twists and turns for six-miles, forming a one-way looping scenic drive through the Great Smoky Mountains. The drive along Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail begins at the Noah “Bud” Ogle farmstead, where you can take a walking tour of the historic buildings and pick up a tour map of the roadway sights. The trailhead for Rainbow Falls can be found just beyond the farmstead, a moderate hike to a stunning waterfall. It’s a 5.4-mile roundtrip hike to Rainbow Falls (it’s less than 3 miles one way!) and your reward is the 80-foot high waterfall, the tallest single-drop waterfall in the national park.

Hidden Gems

Theses are places that you may not know about or see advertised. While they are popular they can't compete with the mainstream blitz of advertising.
This is a very affordable small and exotic zoo. Has a petting/feeding area. Not near as large as many zoos, but the price reflects that. They always run a groupon special, so buy your tickets on Groupon. One of the best bang for your buck value places in town.

This is a large shopping store that many pass by without ever knowing the hidden jewel inside. The owners rescued 4 bears and built and habitat area for them. It's very affordable, and you get to a close up encounter with real live bears. You can even feed them for a couple dollars more. My son absolutely loves this place! Better than the much more expensive O'Ber Gatlinburg bear exhibit.

This place is so much fun. My son loved digging and panning for gems. It is not the cheapest place, in fact it's rather expensive. You get to find different types of real gems, fossils, shells, and rocks. Then they tell you about what all you found and give you the option to make it into jewelry for an additional charge of course.
