Many people who stumble upon it would have no idea the food is vegan, and once they do even meat lovers do not mind it is all so well done. They offer tacos, burritos, nachos, and a number of other options. They have the best patio in the city during the summer, which is also pet-friendly!

A Northern Ontario (North Bay, originally) owned and operated coffee shop. Twiggs has mastered specialty coffees, and features a wonderful menu of delicious food at a great price. Perfect for lunch or a light dinner, or to caffeinate before hitting the road. Perfect for all ages, and caters to all the different dietary requirements.
Give yourself a few extra minutes if visiting Twiggs, it is no secret how awesome their stuff is so it is usually quite busy.

Towne House Tavern

The Towne House has the best burgers in town. This restaurant is great for a delicious lunch or dinner, and becomes a busy, popular bar at night featuring local bands and performers. Hiking Trails
A few nearby hiking trails that are worth the drive.
The Crack is a hiking trail in Killarney, Ontario. The parking lot, off of ON-637 (The road into Killarney), is approximately 1 hr drive from our house. This 6km, Moderate/Difficult trail is worth every second for the views from the top. There is some steep terrain to climb up, we do not recommend for families with young children or inexperienced hikers.
The Crack
The Crack is a hiking trail in Killarney, Ontario. The parking lot, off of ON-637 (The road into Killarney), is approximately 1 hr drive from our house. This 6km, Moderate/Difficult trail is worth every second for the views from the top. There is some steep terrain to climb up, we do not recommend for families with young children or inexperienced hikers.
A beautiful waterfall that makes for a wonderful stop while exploring Manitoulin Island. If you visit the Cup & Saucer trail, make time for Bridal Veil. You can walk back behind the falls, making for beautiful pictures and is easy to access even with young children.

Chutes Bridal Veil
50-64 Main StA beautiful waterfall that makes for a wonderful stop while exploring Manitoulin Island. If you visit the Cup & Saucer trail, make time for Bridal Veil. You can walk back behind the falls, making for beautiful pictures and is easy to access even with young children.
30 mins north of Sudbury you will find a series of trails that follow a portion of the Vermilion River. From AY Jackson lookout, just past Dowling, Ont., where you will park, you can walk the scenic trail to the Waterfalls lookout, and either continue your hike or make your way back along the river to the lookout. This is a moderately difficult trail, but not exceptionally long. We suggest carriers for toddlers or waiting until your little ones are over aprox. 5 yr/old (there are a number of spots where you need to scale rocks).

Onaping Falls
30 mins north of Sudbury you will find a series of trails that follow a portion of the Vermilion River. From AY Jackson lookout, just past Dowling, Ont., where you will park, you can walk the scenic trail to the Waterfalls lookout, and either continue your hike or make your way back along the river to the lookout. One of Sudbury's most recognizable attractions is our Big Nickel, a giant replica nickel located at Dynamic Earth overlooking the city. This is a great place for a quick stop for photos (Make sure you get one of yourself "holding up" the nickel!), or for a day trip to explore Dynamic Earth.
Dynamic Earth is great for all ages, full of interactive exhibits all relating to the Mining industry that made Sudbury what it is today. Also within Dynamic Earth is the underground tour, which takes you down a replica mine shaft for an underground tour of Mining through the ages. This is an incredible experience that people of all ages will enjoy.
If you plan on visiting Dynamic Earth & Science North, make sure you get the Dynamic Duo Passport instead of regular day passes (this will save you some money if you visit both).

Between the toddler treehouse, bug floor & butterfly exhibit, animal friends, and many many other science based interactive exhibits Science North is fun for everyone. Keep in mind, the science centre does have an elevator between floors if needed, but does require a lot of walking.
Plan to dedicate a full day to exploring Science North, in fact you could even spend two days here and still have more things to do. There is a cafeteria, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and eat at designated tables or outside overlooking the beautiful Ramsey Lake.
