More used by the locals than tourists the 1,5 - 2 hours hike from the apartment up to Grefsenkollen will give you the best view over Oslo. At the historical restaurant at the top of the hill you will find tasty pizza, great coffie, local beer and a perfect spot to watch the sun set over the city at night.

Almost at the beginning of the river, Alerselva, the water moves smoothly around curves of the green riverside making it perfect for a swim counter current, or just to lay down on your back in the water and float around. Definitely one of my favorite places in Oslo during summer.

A floating sauna right next to the Operahouse is something that is worth visiting. Even though it might feel a litte strange change into swimwear right next to the operahouse, once you enter the float, you will enter a different world of recreation.

Close to the Operea House you will find Vannkunsten. One of the newest neighborhoods in Oslo. Worth a visit for its special architecture and small canals.

This old fashion restaurant from 1951 is one of my personal favorites. Good vibes and atmosphere, friendly staff and a selection traditional Norwegian food, alongside with some international known classics. As restaurants in general are an expencive experience in Oslo, this at least gives you value for money. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but once you enter the door you will be met with a warm, cozy feeling.

Mentioned in the Michelin guide, but far from upper class. This restaurant has a low key and warm atmosphere. In addition to that the food is of course excellent, and prices not bad at all. Recommend to book in advance.

Very good burgers mad with style and love! If you like hamburgers you could also go for the more casual place, Illegal Burger. This one has been rewarded the best burger place in Oslo several times.

Hidden behind a dark door without a sign you will find this amazing coctail bar. Awarded the best bar in Norway, it is still not overcrowded due to its somewhat hidden location. You might have to walk past it a couple of times before you find the entrance ;)
