This is the closest to a central city park that Podgorica offers. Spanning both banks of the river, this park is almost like an oasis in the middle of the city, enabling its citizens and tourists to enjoy the many sunny days that Podgorica has!

Skaline is one of the most historic and picturesque site of Podgorica. It is a peaceful, quiet place in the middle of the city. It is very easy to reach from the center just to get the feeling of an Ottoman period and romantic atmosphere. Locals calls it "Sastavci" - the paths among the trees, descending to the river Ribnica, the old Aji-pasha bridge over this river and the ruins of the Depedogen fortress (built in 1474-1478). To walk in the middle of the story, and even in the shadows ... What could be better than walking through history?

The banja (Turkish for bathhouse) is known today as Karver Bookstore. When it was opened, t was a local spot. A place where the Podgorica culture was on display through people gathering. Montenegrin musicians, artists, and writers put their work on display for others to see and hear. Today, it remains hidden to the traveler and generally undiscussed a place to visit. For us, it is one of the best locales to enjoy a refreshing drink, conversation, and nature...

Montenegro has its own Niagara Falls!! This beautiful Cijevna river at a 10-15 minutes drive from Podgorica offers the best refreshment during the hot summer days. “Niagara” is also the name of the traditional restaurant on the bank of the river and it offers good national food. Cijevna river originates in Albania (in Albanian: Cem river) on the northern side of the Prokletije mountains and has a total length of 65 km, out of which 33 km in Montenegro. The Niagara falls are most impressive in spring time (in March/April, or after a rainy day). On the other side of the river are the vineyards of the “Plantaža” winery, which produces the famous red wine called “Vranac”, you should try it! :)

In this caffe you will forget about fancy and modern interiors. The energy of this cafe makes it a wonderful choice for having drinks with friends, especially when you know the beer is good and cheap. Everyone likes that! :) It’s very friendly, starting from their bartenders, to people who have their drinks there often. It’s the place where everything starts and where every party ends up at, since it’s one of the rare places that works till late at night (till 03:00). It’s definitely one of my favorite places in Podgorica because of its charm and energy. Maybe it looks abandoned when it’s not crowded, but I usually go there for the parties and to listen to some rock bands. Interesting fact: they have a dog called Angela. It’s a stray dog, but bartenders take care of her and give her food. So don’t forget to bring some food for Angela when going to Berlin. And don’t be confused: it’s Podgorica, not Germany!

This is one of the favorite eating and drinking places in Podgorica where you can experience traditional food and traditional hospitality. You can get traditional meat dishes and cooked meals for very affordable prices!! However, if you are a vegetarian, this may not be the best place, but you won't stay hungry! :)

The restaurant's menu is beer, many types of unusual sausage, exceptional Austrian white, and other meat specialties, but also excellent chicken, sandwiches and the most beautiful and most delicious homemade and homemade breakfast (more varieties) in the capital. Whether breakfast is so powerful as the most important meal, or when creating a menu, those who drank in the evening also thought of a mug more often in the morning, asking for a true domestic porridge of scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon... The important fact is that all foodstuffs at Crib & Beer Marienplatz come from domestic verified producers; the list of suppliers is made by small producers of healthy food, and this is the principle that is kept in this local: the use of domestic and healthy foods from small farms. And the popular Crib & Beer Marienplatz sausages, and eggs, the meat is all homemade ... Each one will find something special on the menu, except for the popular sausages that are hit by the menu, we have meals with serious pieces of meat, and BBQ ribs are always delicious and the right choice with a good beer or the so-called. Marienplatz beer pizza, a traditional sandwich with prosciutto in homemade buns and finger food variants are interesting such as vegetable fritas, refreshing specialties that serve with sticks filled with black olives.

In the very center of Podgorica, next to the stadium of Budućnost, located under Gorica, there is the church of St. George (Sveti Đorđe), the oldest active Christian chapel in the territory of Montenegro. This church is one of the oldest buildings in Podgorica, and for decades it was the only church that was built. It is about nine hundred years old. Beneath the walls of the church, there are several mass graves of the victims of Podgorica in the Anglo-American bombing of Podgorica in 1944. Unfortunately, after the Second World War, the entire area was devastated, both by constructing buildings and by constructing roads. Church of St. George was erected and built several times, as evidenced by several historical sources. The church is very old, and worship has been held everyday still. It hides very valuable medieval frescoes in it. The church is a testimony to the ancient durability of Christianity in this area and of the Orthodox faith in this region. For decades, it had been one of the only religious facilities. I like this place especially during springtime, since it’s surrounded with many plants and flowers, and there’s a lot of birds flying around. I have a feeling like I’m in a forest, not 2 minutes from the city center!

The Centre for Modern Arts was established in 1995. It is housed in Kruševac, an edifice built in late 19th century. The central building of the complex is the once residence of the Duke Mirko Petrović Njegoš, known as the Palace of the Petrović. The permanent display of the gallery includes around 1,000 items originating from some 60 countries of the world, from Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, as well as a collection of Yugoslav and Montenegrin artists. The oldest items date from 7th century BC, and the newest from the last decades of the 20th century. Apart from works of fine arts, there are also works of applied arts and ethnography, adding variety to the display. Alongside the Palace there is also the gallery Perjanički dom (House of King’s Guard), where thematic exhibitions, book promotions, literary nights, symposiums, and classical music concerts are organised occasionally. Occasional artistic projects of contemporary artists are open to the public in the Gallery Centar, also located in Podgorica.

Amazing wooden snack bar offering really good food, perfect match with beer. :) The owner is always super friendly and will tell you a lot about the Podgorica and Montenegro. Eye catcher and highlight are the swings instead of the bar stools on which it is totally fun to swing with a drink back and forth. :) The "cabin" is made by the owner and it's really different from other bars or restaurants in Podgorica. This young entrepreneur likes to make a difference in the town. The place to go when in Podgorica!

Excellent food, perfect service and friendly staff! A place that provides quality amenities from early morning coffee to recognizable evening jazz-rock gigs of foreign or local bands. In addition to the standard menu, they have created a seasonal menu which is changeable, making the kitchen more interactive. All recommendations and praises for the team Restobar Štrudla!
