I love the cakes here too... and of course the coffee. It does one of the best in Newquay...

My favourite places to eat

As well as the cafes, there are some great local restaurants too.
Now a series of pop up food trucks and a bar, its well worth a walk down to the harbour for some lunch or dinner and plenty of choice from the various street food vans to choose from.

Please don't miss out on this. Its a great spot, different views (over Crantock) and on windy days can still feel like you are in the med due to its sheltered position. Definitely do the walk down the footpath to the river and check out the little shack at the bottom. Crab sandwiches are from crabs caught by the families fishing boats.

I used to work at Knightor Winery and if you enjoy good wine, it is well worth a visit. 'Off the beaten track' so to speak (but close to the Eden Project!) it is a boutique winery where we make all our own wine from English grapes and grapes we have grown at our Portscatho and Seaton vineyards. Every Friday there is a feast night, Saturday are pop up street food vans 12-4 ad Sunday roasts. Wine tastings (£5 to try 4 Cornish wines) and winery tours too. And a very authentic winer cellar shop. Well worth a visit Wednesday - Sunday

Things to do on a Rainy Day... or a Sunny day!

It rains and sometimes you still want to get out but don't want to get too wet. Some suggestions for a rainy day are below. These are also excellent for a sunny day too!

I work here part time! Knightor is just outside of St Austell on the way to the Eden project, around 25 minutes away from Newquay. It is a local winery making Cornish wine and vermouth and with tastings (walk in) Wednesday - Saturday 11-4) they also have events such as pop up street food vans on Saturdays and a good Sunday lunch (12-2.30). Check out the Facebook page for news about winemaker tours too. The most authentic winery in Cornwall in my opinion and very, very good wine (red / white / rose and sparkling and the vermouth is epic).
