A 45 minute drive West of Golden on Highway 1, this NP hosts steep hikes with breath taking views. More suited for fit and experienced experienced hikers though, the visitors centre is really worth a visit if you are passing that way. There are a few easy interpretive walks which take you through the railroad history of the Rodger's Pass.

A majestic road trip. I recommend driving no further than the Athabasca Glacier if you are on a day trip from Golden and visiting as many of the roadside walks on the way as you can. Don't miss Peyto Lake, it's beautiful.

It's one of my favourite scenic drives from Golden to Radium, especially in Spring and Fall and a soak in the Hot Springs is a must for aching hikers legs!

If you have time you should make the effort to hike into this amazing Provincial Park hidden from the regular tourist trail. Best know for it's spectacular Rock climbing routes it has scenery you have to see to believe.
