See the famous Kenai River where the best salmon fishing is done! The start of the river (the mouth) is a few miles from our location. You can see fishing boats leaving and coming in from their day of fishing.

Between July 10th - July 31st on the Kenai River, you can see what is called "dipnetting" by Alaskan residents. They’ll be out to catch sockeye, Kings, and Pink salmon. It's a sight to see!

Two blocks from our cottage, you can drive/walk to Kenai Beach for a great sunset. We have some of the best! I leave a few camp chairs and a beach mat to see the sunset more comfortably.

30-45 minutes from Kenai, you'll find some amazing hiking trails. From easy to strenuous, there are many. Please take a can of bear spray (please ask and I can leave a bottle).
I also know of many hiking trails that I have been on, so please ask for info.

This amazing paved trail is one of the most used trails in our area. Following the Kenai Spur Highway, this path is excellent for walking, running, jogging, biking, rollerblading and an excellent place to take strollers or wagons. With many scenic views, park benches and parks along the way you can go almost as far as you would like to and then come right back again.
