Food scene
A great little town, packed with amazing restaurants, bars and clubs, local craft markets and beautiful beaches. The big beach is very popular with tourists, but many people miss the quiet, smaller beach (called, "la poza"), which isn't so good for swimming but has stunning views of the volcano and nice grass banks to sit back and soak up the atmosphere.
If you're not on a budget, the best meal in town will be a steak at La Maga, near the central square. If you want a delicious snack, the best empanadas for miles can be found at Puras Pavadas, on Calle Palguin, one block from the central O'Higgins street.

Pucón

You can drive here from Pucon in 30 minutes, or take a bus. There's the "playa blanca" one of the few local beaches with white sand, a little along the west side of the lake. If you want to avoid crowds during weekends, it's better to arrive in the morning. People come after lunch.
