If you want to get a little more aggressive head down south to Torrey Pines state reserve (30-45 minute drive) in San Diego. Absolutely gorgeous views and family friendly hikes. You can also go further south to La Jolla and walk along the gorgeous coastline and watch the sea lions. A great idea to do with kids.
